Nocturnal Wildlife Safety Bulletin
Attention Box Elder residents.
There has been an increased migration of turkeys this season. You may notice them walking around outside residential areas of town.
Please do not hunt them. They are scavenging, and their poor diets may have included poisonous berries. The seeds are easy to digest and remain in the turkey's body up to a week after consumption. This may cause mild or moderate symptoms of poisoning.
If they get too close to you, try shining a flashlight in their eyes to scare them away.
The Wildlife Office will update this bulletin if there are any updates.
